My favorite way to finish an appliqué piece is with a Satin Stitch. I love the smooth and tidy finish it gives, plus it secures those raw edges really well, preventing fraying. Satin stitching is a skill that takes a bit of practice, but I have a lot of pro-tips that will help you to master this stitch much quicker! I shared all those pro-tips over on the Aurifil blog, while you're there, be sure to grab my free download, Master the Satin Stitch, and save it for the next time you are doing any raw-edge appliqué!
